Jenny has over 30 years experience in the wine industry ranging from front line sales through to picking grapes. She has been recognized selling a bottle of wine at some of Melbourne’s premium wine stores, teaching numerous students wine tasting or background consulting of wine lists, training and marketing. To not be too distant from the production level, she worked two vintages in Portugal and South Australia, has picked grapes and has made small quantities of wine at home.
After completing various short wine courses, Jenny enrolled in the Roseworthy Associate Diploma in Wine Marketing. She graduated in 1992 with the Market Research prize. She was the first Australian to be accepted in the prestigious OIV Master of Science in Wine Management – an international postgraduate degree in Marketing, Management and Economy within the wine and spirit sector. She also has completed the WSET Diploma.
Other studies include a Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training and the WSET Approved Educator course. Last year, she was proud to be a finalist in the inaugural Wine Communicators Australia Best Wine Educator award. This year, she was even prouder to win the award.
Her present pursuits involve teaching WSET courses and various materclasses; wine list consulting and training for Claypots restaurants; and marketing and PR consulting through her business wine whitch.
